As you prepare for a new year filled with new goals, I want to encourage you to not just say you will try to reach your goals…JUST DO IT!This is a little note I wrote to a friend (and to myself) to remind us of the difference in just trying and actually doing. When I say, “I will try.” I am giving my self room to fail. I am giving myself an excuse to fail, because then I can always fall back on, “Well at least I tried.” In saying I will try, I’m not committing to do anything except try. But if I say, “I WILL DO…”, then I am setting myself up to succeed. When I say, “I will do…” I am giving my word and in my heart, I have to complete it- otherwise I am a liar. Now, just because I say, “I will do…” doesn’t mean I will always succeed. It means I will do my absolute best to do what I said with no excuse and if I do fail the first time, then I just dust myself off and get back up and try again and again until I succeed. Just because I fail one time doesn’t mean I’m a failure. It just means I need more than one try to succeed!May you succeed in all you do in 2012! Happy New Year HnB family!
