I think we can all agree that we are over medicated here in the US. For that reason, I wanted to share a little recipe that you can use to bring headache relief naturally.
I have used, and continue to use, this mixture to fight off those oh so annoying headaches.
Depending on the headache, sometimes it completely alleviates it and sometimes it just takes the edge off so that I can function.
The key is in peppermint oil (extract). Peppermint oil is an analgesic–a pain killer–and also a stimulant. For that reason, it brings relief to your headache when applied directly to your temples and/or forehead.
DO NOT APPLY PEPPERMINT OIL ALONE (without a carrier oil). Believe me, when you do -it burns like the dickens and you feel like your eyeballs are gonna burn out of your skull….I am speaking from experience 😉
All you need to do is mix the following:
3-5 drops Peppermint oil extract
1 tablespoon of a carrier oil (olive oil, coconut oil)
I like to put this into a washed out lip balm container or a plastic rollerball bottle and keep it in purse to have on hand when I need it.
You can also use apply this mixture to the insides of your wrists to alleviate nausea. ( I used this frequently when I was dealing with morning sickness.)
You can apply this to joints or any other places your may be experiencing pain to bring relief. (NOT internally or on areas with sensitive skin.)
