Every Friday I will be giving you a small goal to aim for in order to be able to hit your target of having a healthy and balanced life.
This weekend’s challenge is to write out your monthly budget. If you already have a budget then do a budget check. How are you doing so far this week? Are you sticking to your budget? Have you already blown it out of the water? Are there any adjustments you need to make to the budget?
Having a budget is important. Putting a name on every penny that comes in helps you to not overspend and to keep track of your money.
This month I switched back to the envelope system on the things that were throwing my budget off. Honestly, I am no good with credit cards. Every time I use a credit/debit card to pay for my groceries I wind up spending too much. So I asked my husband to get me the Financial Peace Envelope System Wallet. ( I LOVE THIS THING!! No, I am not getting any kickback for sharing this with you. It really is a GREAT tool.)
Now I pay cash for groceries, gas, and clothing. When the envelope is empty, then I can’t spend a penny more because there is no cash to do it. It’s so much easier to stick to my budget when I pay in cash for these things.
If you are credit card challenged like me, then I want to encourage you to give the envelope system a try.
