Are you a sugar addict? I know I used to be until I decided I didn’t want to be a part of the statistics. Did you know that diabetes affects 25.8 million people (in the US) and it’s the 7th leading cause of death here in the US?
I know that diabetes is hereditary in many cases and I am not saying that all diabetics are sugar addicts. But I also know that there are plenty of us who bring this and other diseases on ourselves by our poor food and lifestyle choices-such as choosing to be sugar addicts!
So for all you sugar addicts out there that don’t want to be another statistic-how about you take that first step this week and try a a healthier sweetener in your food/beverages?
Some options that you have are: honey, agave nectar, stevia, or xylitol.
Of course you could always opt to have some fruit & nuts or a smoothie, instead of munching on some sugar-filled treat (which is even better).
However you decide to do it, just do it and see how it goes :) That’s what I did when I made the Healthiefied Chocolate No-Bake cookies and I don’t regret it for a minute-these suckers are AWESOME!
